FATAL GUN ACCIDENT.
(FRON OUT CORRESPONDENT.)
BEGA, THURSDAY.
A fatal accident occurred last night to Laurence H. Rixon, aged 19, son of Mr. James Rixon, of Rocky Hall. He was opossum shooting at Brogo, about 10 miles out, and had wounded an opossum, which fell to the ground. While the opossum was running away be endeavoured to club it with the butt end of the gun. The other barrel exploded, and the charge entered Rixon's brain, causing almost instantaneous death. A magisterial inquiry was held to-day, before Mr. Cowdrey, J.P., and a verdict of accidental death was returned.
