You are right in 1861 the family had moved to Manchester, living at 29 Verdon St Manchester

Simon Levy M head aged 66 born 1795 dealer in marine stores born prussia/poland

Fanny F Wife aged 49 born Prussia/poland

Deborah 17 dau 1844 born Prussia

Louis 15 son hawker of elastic bands born Prussia

there were also 3 lodgers.

reference GG9 P2949 F60 P12

I also found Fanny Levy aged 30 in the 1841 census. she was without Simon and with a family called Jacobs living at Ellison St. St Boltoph without Aldgate

As you are probably aware the 1841 census did not record relationships or place of birth

I could not find Simon in the census at all but could have a spelling variant so will keep trying

Do you have any of the family in the 1871,81 or 91 censuses?

kind regards

Hi again

Rebecca Levy was with her parents in 1851 but not in 1861. The liklihood is she married and changed her name

There is one Rebecca Levy marriage in Manchester and 4-5 in East London Aldgate are in that decade.

I suspect, and hope you have information to confirm, she married in Manchester to a Jacob Rosenburg. The BMD reference is 1Q 1859 Manchester 8D 522.
