I can't find any trace of them after 1980.

I believe Lionel and Ivy are my Great grandparents, their daughter is my grandmother and I could ask her for information?

I can take you back on the SANDS side to a marriage in 1723 and deaths in 1742 and 1744 in Torryburn, Fife, Scotland.

Sorry for the late reply. I spoke with my grandmother the other week.
Apparently Ivy Florence died in 1984 and Lionel in 1983. They were residing in Gymea area of Sydney.

Hope that helps, I've been a bit busy of late to do any work on my family history. But I would be keen to see what you had on the Sands family.
