Hi
I'm looking for a friend of my relation Alan Hadley, Alan went down with the HMS Hood in 1941. Alan's friend Den Finden was transfered to another ship before the The Hood went out after the Bismark and servied the war. I'm looking for Den so that I might be able to find out more about Alan. Den was still alive in 2001 as he supplied a photo to the HMS Hood people in 2001. If den see's this or anyone know's him, could he be ask to conact me on my email.

please. Thanks. Laurie.

Hello Laurie,

It's site policy even with 'throwaway' email addresses.

I'd say your best bet was probably via the HMS Hood Association.

Or you might be lucky and have someone come to this site after seeing the name through an internet search now that it's out there.

Regards,

Dave

Hi Laurie.....why not email the website on the above link...ask them to put your questions in the local paper.....it is almost invetiable that someone local to Winchester will have known Alan as a youngster....or know of his details as a young man/boy because of other regions.
When tracing my family the local newspapers were the biggest help.

All the best.
