Hi I found the same marriage as Julie. I couldn't find any children either. (ref for marriage is Oct/Dec 1945 Ashford 2a 4001)
It could be that Kevin and Karen were from a previous marriage of Daphne. What other details do you know about William?, names of siblings etc.

Hi It sounds as if Julie has found your uncle especially as the two children matching your family were born to parents of the married names.

I looked further back for his parents and came up with two marriages between Wilson and Massingham in Middlesborough.

1 James W Wilson to Rebecca Massingham - J/M 1918 ref 9d 1019
2 John T Wilson to Ellen massingham - A/J 1920 ref 9d 886

children to these two marriages are
Lelitia - O/D 1919
James T B - J/M 1921
John T B - J/M 1921
Jemima - J/S 1923
Stella L A - A/J 1924
William - J/S 1926
Richard K - A/J 1928
Kezia E K - J/M 1931
Ernest B - A/J 1932
Leonard - J/M 1934
Clifford G - J/S 1934
Annie - J/M 1936
Gladys - A/J 1936
Gilbert - A/J 1938

Hi
I think you get 42 days to register a birth, so Gilbert could have been born in Mar, but not reg until Apr
Jamima was born 1923 but the marriage was 1920, so I reckon Thomas could be John T B or James T B both born 1921

Hi
It is interesting that John and James had the initials J T B and were both born in 1921, although I believe they are from seperate marriages. It would not surprise me at all if the fathers James and John were brothers and the mothers Rebecca and Ellen were sisters. Also I would bet the initials B (Babber) was the maiden name of thier grandmother.

Hi
So we now know that James and John were brothers
and the following marriage confirms their mother's maiden name.

James Wilson to Jemima Barber - jun 1887 Middlesborough, ref 9d 763 (not as your dad remembers as Babber)

I don't know if this thread is still monitored but I can confirm some of the information.

James William Wilson and Rebecca Massingham are my grandparents.

John T Wilson, James William Wilson's brother.
Ellen massingham, Rebecca Massingham's sister.

Gladys Wilson (married name Elliott), my mother.
Also,
Uncle James
Auntie Stella
Uncle Cliff

I think I remember meeting aunt Annie a few times.

With regards to Samuel Leach Massingham, Leach's were another big family living in Chester Street (as did Cox's - Samuel Leach Massingham and Edith Massingham, born Cox).

I was also born in Chester Street, Cargo Fleet.

I now live in NSW, Australia - in the Hunter Valley.
I have been working on the family tree and it appears the Wilson side originate from White Waltham, Berkshire. Funny thing is, part of that Wilson side emigrated to NSW, Australia in 1855 & 1856 - one of them to Newcastle, NSW. It also appears descendants live very close to me here.
