Looking for Frederick Williams

I am looking for my great grandfather who I believe was from Wales, ex serviceman-Gunner, Police sergeant. He was born about 1840 and died in 1902 in India. He married Alice Barracliffe who was the daughter of Regt. Apothecary. They has 15 children one of whom was my grandfather Harold Williams (known as George Henry Williams - he married my grandmother Evelyn Adelaide Quarman. I also have a ref from the LDS on Disc # 62 Pin# 710460 for Alice Barracliffe, if this helps any. This is all the information I have on them. Can anyone out there help to broaden this? please.

Hi Colleen,

Using the search box for the 1851 Welsh census and putting in Frederick Williams born 1840 with 5 years either side brings up nine between these years and one John Frederick Williams. I'm assuming that he married in India.
You could try findymypast site a pay per view site which have overseas bmd's and military records.

Hello Julie,
Many many thanks for your time and trouble re the above. I have tried Findmypast and have not come up with anything. The only info I have is what I gave in my post. I cannot even find anything on Alice Barracliffe. I know she was born in India and I tried the IOR to no avail. I just dont know where else to look, I'm afraid this is one brick wall nobody can break down.
