looking for info on Sutherland Mcadie

Hi,
Looking for info on Sutherland Mcadie born 1902 Thurso Scotland.
I know by the crew list i have that he disenbarked in Wellington from the ship Matatua on 17th Dec 1925
He married my nana in 1923 Hartlepool England, He sailed on the Matatua in 1924, we thought that was the last we knew of him, until i seen the crew list for 1925, there he was on the list, there was also a guy called William Garner born 1901 Harrogate England, he sailed with Sutherland on another ship, we also found out he was his best man.
If there is anyone who can find out (marriage or Death)after 1925, or point me in the right direction i would be very grateful.

Hello,

I cannot see Sutherland in NZ Electoral Rolls or any event in NZ BMD.

Because of privacy laws there are various cut-off years for the BMD index.

Hi lighty,

Sometimes the newspapers have articles in them which may or may not help but could be worth checking. Besides looking for his name in the papers also try looking for the name and date for the ship etc. as well. Might be worth a try if you havent already

The ship made lots of trips to Australia as well.
Could he have jumped ship here perhaps and not NZ?

I'm puzzled because I expected to find him in NZ Electoral Rolls but didn't.

I did notice there are McADIEs in NZ before 1924.

I can't see any sign of him in Australia so far in searching.

He definitely got off NZ. but who knows he could have got on another ship he could have gone anywhere, just thought he might have showed up on the NZ records somewhere.
Maybe he wasn't in the country long enough
