Looking for information on my grandmother May Withers

Hello, I am looking for any information on my Grandmother May Withers. The only information I have is that she was born in 1897 and died in 1930. She died when my Mum was only three years old so my Mum knows nothing about her really. She married my Grandfather John Beardsmore in 1920 in the district of Kings Norton. They had five children, Margaret, Geoff, John, Arthur and my mum Mary. They were all born in Birmingham.

I would love to know her date of birth, where she was born, the name of her parents, brothers and/or sisters. If there are any living relatives on the Withers side, the date she died and where she is buried and any other relevant information. Obviously I won't get all the information I want but I would be grateful for anything.

On FreeBMD there is a birth registration of May Withers, in King's Norton in the second quarter of 1897, vol 6c page 401.

I'll see if I can find her in 1901!

On FreeBMD, there is a marriage in King's Norton in the third quarter of 1891. Thomas Withers is on the same page as May Barnes. (Vol 6c page 616)

In the later census, they are in still at the same address.

Married 19 years, and 4 children to marriage, two having died.

Thomas is a Carter at a Rolling Mill.

Francis James Withers c1894. Northfield. Is a Driller, in a folding car manufacturers.

May Withers c1897. Northfield is a Chocolate wrapper.

With regard to your query about your grandma’s death, it was registered in the first quarter of 1930, in Birmingham South. She was aged 33. (Volume 6d page 104)

If you need to know the exact date of her death, you could order the certificate online from the GRO; it costs £9.25.

Hannah Beardsmore was my 2 great grandmother and was born in Hansworth Birmingham. She married George Cooper Astley and died after 1901

Hannah's parents were John Beardsmore born 1796 in Warwickshire and Elizabeth Tongue born 1798-1861

Hi I have been looking for information on my grandmother for years and have very little information. My Mum is her daughter and is now 92 and would absolutely love to find any info on her Mum. May died when my mum was nearly three and her Dad (mays husband) remarried so there is no info available anywhere. Do you have any pics of your great grandfather or are there any pics of anyone in the family. I would love to see any if you have some. Your mum or dad must be my mums cousin.

Hi, my mums name was Gillian Withers, she passed away 2015. I am going to my aunts house over Christmas and I will ask her for a photo of Francis. I’m sure there is a photo of May Withers posted on Ancestry? Was that one of yours? I also can get photos of my grandad Eric Withers. He passed away quite young in 1962.
