Hello

Have searched St George Hanover Square Westminster Baptisms and only two John Jefferies (Inc variations) as far as I can tell between 1815-1840. There were quite a few Jefferies or variations of baptised at this church.

One John is as posted earlier

other

Bap 16 Feb 1840 John, James & Mary Jefferies, Willow Walk, Born 7 Feb 1839, Occ Labourer.

I also looked for baptisms with father named John & these were only two I could find

Bap 18 Jan 1824 Mary Ann, John Jones & Mary William Jefferys, Strand, Born 17 Dec 1823, Seaman

Bap 20 May 1838 Emma, John & Charlotte Jefferies Ebury Sq Born 30 Apr 1838 Labourer

Regards
Mark
Thanks for the results, only one of them fit in the time zone but his occupation seems too different

On their marriage certificate he is in Middlesex in 1855 as that's when they married, there is a residence place but I can't read it that we'll. Maybe a search of that on a 1851 census might bring John's whereabouts?

I did take a look for you, but there aren't as many records online for other countries as their are here.
I wouldn't get too hung up about his occupation as it's possible it was recorded wrong.
I have now come to this conclusion about my ancestor John Molyneux. He was recorded as a postillion, but I can't find one who worked with horses that fits the bill. I think it's more than likely he was a twine spinner or ropemaker.

I have a 4th cousin DNA match and still I have't been able to pin point him, although I have an idea which family to look at now. I just need another match or two to say for sure I'm right.

His occupation is something to keep in mind, and it is very frustrating but I think Emeltee is right, their are other ancestors to discover and I'm sure at some point something will turn up.

Street on Marriage Cert is Praed Street. In what is now the London W2 postal area. Paddington Station sits on it. Many streets in the surrounding area have large Victorian properties which in the day would have housed wealthy families etc. Ideal if working as a Butler/Servant.
