Hi Kerri welcome to the forum. No luck in finding Nicholas on the death index. Had as look on Ancestrys bmd from 1949 to 1952, the Dec 1/4 for 1950 was missing. It may be that his surname has been spelt differently or as you put it had it been true. Will have a look for his marriage.

Hi Kerri,

Looked for marriage for Joy and Nicholas from Jan 1945-Dec 1951, sorry but found nothing. It can be frustrating, I've one that I cant go back any further than 1921.

Hi kerri,

As you live in Derby, I would suggest a visit to the Nottingham Archives (here), they are not too far away from you.

It may take some work, but a search there through the marriage indexes wouldn't be too bad.
