I have come to a dead stop on the Spencer line of my tree. Edward Dan Spencer was apparently born 1856 in Greenwich. He was married in 1875 at Manchester Cathedral when he states that he was a Private in the 12th Lancers. We now know that this is untrue. He was in the Army Service Corp. In 1877 his first daughter was born in Bull Point in Devon when Edward is down as a Soldier in the ASC. After the 1881 census the next thing we have is his wife returning from Ireland with two sons both born in Ireland (Dublin and Cork)
How can I find details of members of the ASC. The army says they were not classified as soldiers therefore they don't hold records of them.
