I have Thomson men, brothers who could of been in WW2. Have confirmation from relative of these men that the one, David Thomson born 1905 was in the war. His brother Cecil Abbott Thomson born 1903 could also been in the war. They were both born in Byker, Newcastle Upon Tyne.
I found a article in the Newcastle, The Evening Chronicle, Tuesday June 4, 1940 page 6. North Men Wounded in Battle. Do not know if the info refers to the David Thomson I am looking for. David did live in Mason Street, have not been able to find electoral register to confirm that he stayed at no.78. Later registers, 1955, have him staying at 50 Mason street.

WW2 military records are not available on line, if you are next of kin you can apply for them. Cecil's is available due to the fact its 1920 therefore WW1 but if he signed up for WW2 as well you wont get the later record.
