Looking to trace family history

Hello
I am a newcomer and I am trying to trace my family history. I did not know my grandparents on my father's side but I believe them to be Arthur Chalcraft who married Lilly Figg as they had a son, my father, William Chalcraft who was born in 1899 in Westbourne. Possibly one of 17 siblings. I would appreciate any help.

Firstly, have you any certain evidence that they are in fact your relations, otherwise you/we, could be going in the wrong direction.

Not for certain but I was given information that these were the parents of William Robert ,my father, who had a son Robert Stephen who is my older brother

The birth certificate will confirm the names of the parents.

Arthur Chalcraft 30 Cowman on Farm born Hambledon, Surrey
Lily Esther Chalcraft wife 26 born Ockley Sussex
Arthur Henry John Chalcraft son 5 born Lancing Sussex
Edith Lily Chalcraft dau 4 Chichester
Alfred Hector Chalcraft son 2 Chichester
William Chalcraft son 1 Funtington

By 1911 the family had moved to Romsey, Hampshire. No sign of daughter Edith but further children added to the family are Charlie 9, Edward 7, Hilda 6, Phillip 5, Septimus 3 and Albert 2.

You need to get your fathers marriage certificate to confirm fathers name and occupation.
