My parents emigrated to New Zealand in 1950 separately, they met and married later. There was a family mystery and I have learned that nothing is exactly as you see on paper. My Mother always said "It's a wise man who knows his own Father" and nothing illustrates that better than finding out your ancestor probably wasn't the natural child even though he may have been the legal one. I received some amazing help from genealogists along the way, thank you Pat. Having been deprived of nothing but cell phone coverage for the last twelve months we recently got Fibre Broadband and I hope to search a little deeper.
