Looking for the marriage of Lydia Walker B. c1823 Armitage Staffordshire. & George Green.

She married a George Green sometime after the 1851 Census when she was Single but had Children living with her parents.

The 1861 census has her listed as married but her husband is not with them.
Her children have now taken the surname Green.
In 1871 she is listed as a widow.

From the 1861 census on she is living in Wolverhampton Staffs.

All I know about George Green is he was a Keysmith.

Any info would be much appreciated
Shar

Hi Shar,

This ones turning into a bit of a mystery. Looked on the partial bmd for Lydias marriage to George found nothing. Are you sure that the Mills family in 1851 are her parents? on the 1841 census they are there with their children (no Lydia)and two lodgers John and James Walker both aged 20 ag. labourers.

Just spotted Mary (mother) with Lydia on 1871 census. The only marriage I can see for a Lydia Mills is 1853 Sept 1/4 district Dudley vol 6c page 5. Amongst the grooms is a William Walker listed, but he could belong to one of the other brides.

Hi
Many Thanks for looking.
Lydia is turning into a real mystery.
Her Mother was Married to Peter Walker, he must have died and she remarried to Daniel Mills. It looks like Lydia had children but was not married. As her children are all Walkers on the christening records.
Her daughter Eve married as Eve Green but was Christened Walker.

The John & James Walker on the 1841 census are Lydias brothers.

Regards
Shar
