There is a Janet Lyon, sewer born 1816 but living on her own in 1841 at Little Hamilton Street, Glasgow. I did find a John on his own as well but nothing to say for sure they are same family all split up.

Thanks Barbara.

They ended up in Australia, but by three different vessels.

Index to Assisted British Immigration to Victoria
LYON JANET 44 - DEC 1858 'JOHN AND LUCY' 13 274
LYON ELIZABETH 19 - DEC 1858 'JOHN AND LUCY' 13 274

Unassisted to Vic.
LYON ELIZTH 22 - MAR 1861 'DONALD MCKAY' B 187 003
LYON JOHN L 25 - MAR 1861 'DONALD MCKAY' B 187 003

Don't know when James arrived but it was before 1861.

John Lamb LYON married Elizabeth Gillespie PEARSON in Glasgow on 3 December 1860 before sailing for Melbourne; they arrived on 20 March 1861. His father, a storekeeper at Maldon, had migrated some years earlier.
