Hello,

Fishing with poor bait. :biggrin: Details from a tree and I've not been able to confirm any of it yet.

Archibald MACKELLIN born Liverpool 1810 married Selina HAMILTON place and date unknown.

Son Archibald born Bristol in 1835 ??

I'd like a look up for the family in 1841 please.

Archibald junior ended up in Victoria where he married in 1868.

No MACKELLINs in assisted or unassisted to Victoria. No wills or probate.

No deaths in FreeBMD for Archibald & Selina.

That spelling does exist in BMD and Electoral rolls in Australia. All I get in England is MACKLIN.

Seems Archibald was a publican and that junior arrived in 1849 aged 14. Does not say if he was with parents or name of vessel or port of arrival.

No sign at all, Dave. Something wrong or the name is totally different. Tried Maclaren even but nothing.

Will have a look for the marriage but will have to use Hamilton not the Mackellin.

I can't find that name in English records.

No luck with shipping records or newspapers either around 1849.

Plenty of records with that spelling for the 9 children born in Australia 1868-1885.

The tree has no deaths or even indication Archibald senior and Selina made it to Australia. All I can add for those two is that the tree has 1810.

It is claimed junior married Anna Maria FERGUSON b. abt 1846 Enniskillen, in Fitzroy, Victoria in 1868.

I can't find it in the on-line index so I'll look on fiche next time I'm at the library.

A sister of Jane FERGUSON b. abt 1828 Enniskillen who married John William CAMPBELL in Victoria in 1854. Two sons married HAMILTON sisters.

Archibald Mackellin McKellin and Maria Anne Ferguston, were married 1868 fitzroy victoria australia.. the then had 10 children before 1890..
Joseph Henry McKellin married Katherine Kate Robson 1899 victoria australia, they had 3 sons that i know of James Edward Mckellin born 21 June 1919 married Hazel May Eastoe born 1918 east brunswick victoria australia.. They had 4 children,, Hazel raised the children on a farm outside of Geelong vic .. as James died 28 may 1964 Gheringhap vic. he was hit by a train.. Flojo..
