Both have probate

The 1871 Census shows John at Nidry Lodge, Campden Hill, Kensington as a Servant to Katherine Campbell.

Cecilia is at 5 Walgrave Road with daughter Elizabeth in 1871 and at the same address in 1881 with son John.

Something odd about 1861.

Re the two Mary A Manton deaths - in the 1921 Census John and Mary A Manton are living in Battersea, Wandsworth. Looking on the Genuki site Battersea is 3 miles fron St George Hanover Square and Wandsworth is 4 miles whilst Battersea is 6 miles from Southwark and Wandsworth is 4 miles so I think the only way to find out which, if either, is the correct Mary is to buy the death certs.

I think I have sorted the Mary A Manton deaths. You want the one who died in 1925 St George Hanover Square.

I have found two parish burials, one for John Manton buried 24 February 1932 aged 74 in Morden Surrey, address given as 77 Swaffield Road - this fits with the death registration in my previous post.

Mary Manton was also buried in Morden 1 September 1925 aged 68. Her address is given as Westminster Hospital. St Georges Hospital, Westminster comes under St George Hanover Square.

Ann Nicholas was a widow living in Battersea, Wandsworth with daughter Mary Ann Manton and her husband John.

I was using A.. because FMP was down - well it was saying there were too many sittings ?? meaning too many connections from libraries.
