It would seem that only the children in that 1851 census are Marion's.

So, an earlier marriage for Daniel perhaps not in Lanark with James born abt 1831 out of county. There are five possible marriages.

William's daughter is the connection to my tree.

I think with James not born in Lanark that the first three children in 1841 census are from a previous marriage. Problem is that I can't find marriage or baptisms to fit.
