Looking for a marriage between a Richard Jefford and Rebecca (not sure of her maiden name) would be somewhere around 1824-1825.Possibly in Charlton,but definatly bedfordshire.

I take it this is going to be one of those variations in spelling of the surname thing?Mines deffo Jefford.(Sorry if im asking really stupid questions.)

Ok I have just looked at the IGI (didnt realise this was on line redf) otherwise i wouldnt have been cheeky and asked all these questions.

My Richard must have been born around 1804-1806 (I think its nearer to 1806,take it the records are rounded.I have found a record for a Richard Jefford born 4th june 1804..toddington bedford..that sounds right to me.father Richard Jefford mother Rebecca..got to be the right one..I take it certain names were more common then as my Richard also married a Rebecca!

Just poking my beak in. Toddington is about 3miles from Houghton Regis. Just another little clue.
And remember, check stuff out from original/official records where possible.

Im glad of your help Steve Where do I go now?If all I have is a christening date (i have looked on the igi) where would I find a birth date?i take it im onto parish records now??Im venturing into unknown territory

The parish chest one gives you discs that are available to purchase, but make sure you get the correct ones. They can save you a fortune in the long run, so have a look through and send a few emails.
