My grandfather Alexander Marsden b.1893 & his 2 brothers Edward George b.1892 & Frederick Ernest b.1888 were placed in the Warren Farms Schools, Lewes, Newhaven by their father Alexander b.1868...they apparently never saw him or their mother Ellen(nee Potter)b.1865 again.

Frederick with Messrs Dash Bros(boot maker)103 NewRd,Buckland,Portsmouth) 24th Oct 1903 aged 15 years.
My Grandad Alexander married Henrietta Eliza Adeline Taylor at Eccles in 1923 & they had 5 children.(Harry,Winnie,Beatie,June & my dad Bill) Grandad died in 1941. Granma in the 1950's.
Edward married Minnie? apparently he died from being hit by a bus or truck on Manchester Rd?
Frederick was not known by my father.

Hi My Gt Grandfather was Frederick Marsden. He was Alexander senior's younger brother and the Uncle to these boys. I am always looking for information about the family as we were told very little. And of course trying to find out what happened to the descendants of the Marsden Family from Lewes.
If it is of any interest Frederick worked at Maples of London as an upholsterer. He put his sons through apprenticeships there and the girls were seamstresses. My grandfather Alexander and My Father Kenneth were both upholsterers. Granddad Alec married Ivy Mitchell and they moved to Whitstable in Kent in the early 1940's What is left of the family are still there.
