I am trying to confirm the parentage of Martha Knight, who was born around 1706, possibly baptised in Burrington, Herefordshire in 1706.

I believe she married a Thomas Rogers, allegedly 11th September 1731, though it is not clear if this Thomas was born 1708 or 1711.

Martha and Thomas had a daughter, also called Martha Rogers, who was born about 1745 in Montford, Shropshire...allegedly (seems kind of old to be having a child at her age).

I have found on Ancestry that Martha Knight's parents could have been Richard Knight (1659-1745) and Elizabeth Knight (nee.Payne). Or she could be the child of this Richard Knight's son, also called Richard Knight and born circa 1680-1690. I am not so sure about any of this stuff from Ancestry, as it is conflicting and the info comes mostly from other people's trees on there.

If anyone can help with Martha Knight's parentage, that would be awesome, thanks.

There is a baptism in Burrinton 20 March 1706 for a Martha Knight, parents Richard and Elizabeth.

There is also a marriage in Burrington between Martha Knight and Thomas Rogers 11 September 1731.

This info is available on the familysearch site.

Thank you so much, I guess it seems fairly reasonable from this evidence that her parents were Richard Knight and Elizabeth Payne, as I think they had most of their other kids baptised in Burrinton/Burrington. However, what makes me confused is in historical info about Richard Knight (a wealthy ironmaster with Downton Castle estate) - I don't see Martha ever listed as his child.
