Hi,

I have just been looking through my Family tree and realised that I have two Martha Parkers Born 1826.

The information about Martha Has come from two different treads

The Thomas Parker Thread:-

http://www.forum.familyhistory.uk.com/showthread.php?t=4613&page=2

There is a Thomas baptised 5 Sep 1824. I think this is the Thomas who married Elizabeth Cozens in 1855. Thomas's parents were Thomas Parker (bap 1799) and Martha Thompson (b 1800). Thomas Parker who was married to Martha Thompson died in May 1828 - he drowned with Martha's brother James Thompson. They were fishermen together. Before he died he fathered 4 children, Celia, your Thomas, Martha and James.

From VickyH

From MagieS
Are you aware of Frederick Trodd, eldest son of Benjamin & Sarah, baptised 9/10/1825 at St Marys Extra? He was a mariner and married Martha Parker Dec 1856. Martha's father was a fisherman named Thomas Parker.

So I have:

Thomas Parker = Martha Thompson

With Children
Celia Parker
Thomas Parker
Martha Parker Born 1826
James Parker

Frederick Trodd = Martha Parker (1856)

She then married Ambrose Perrin (1869)

In 1861 Census she was living with her Father in Law Benjamin Trodd.

I am thinking that Martha Parker daughter of Thomas is the same as the wife of Frederick Trodd but so far I can't find anything that links them but I have the same date of Birth for them.

Hi Ed,

I would try contacting MagieS, she since she appears to have knowledge of which Martha was married to whom, she may have something to back up her what she put down. I had the same thing with one of my ancesters with the same name but different wifes and because of a will was able to find correct wife because sons wife and sons mother were mentioned in fathers will. Joyce:) OR you could order a copy of the marriage registery, MagieS stated it was in 1856 but I found it in 1858 see below. This usually states the fathers names on it:) Joyce

Hi Many thanks for finding the Marriage I think that I will have to get the certificate to sort out this one. That should be enough to show that they are the same person.

Thanks

Ed
