Curious. I have no idea who Eric Claude is.

EDIT: A nephew. :)

Hello crankypants,

I suspect Eric didn't want to live in Griffith with his parents. :D

We'll get to William Caleb later.

Two sisters DID marry. The same PERDRIAU. :D

It's said the two families knew each other in London. MARTIN does not sound like a Heugenot name.

http://members.optushome.com.au/ozhug/name.html

MARTIN and MEURANT are on the list. :)

Regards,

Dave

Hello crankypants,

Thank you very much.

We probably looked and gave up in 1841 in London looking for a David & Mary MARTIN with son William b. 1821 Bethnal Green. I don't have the names of any of his siblings but would expect names like Caleb, Hiram, Israel, Jabez, ... if we are lucky.

William Caleb MARTIN b. 1856 Balmain d. 1933 Griffith

married 1888

Catherine Ann ARMSTRONG b. 1862 d. 1943 Griffith

Please see what you can find. Thanks.

Dave

Hello crankypants,

Thank you very much.

Well, I was sort of guessing with the names of the children. The one tree I found certainly helped. :D

Seems only William and Josiah ended up in NSW.

I'll look now for Josiah in shipping records.

Dave

Hello crankypants,

I see what you mean about Catherine / Katherine.

I'd say Catherine is the daughter.

Hello crankypants,

The tree has no death for David but indicates he is alive in 1851:

Residence: 1851 Whitechapel, London, England

I presume Mary will be shown as a widow in 1861 then.

Please see if you can verify that. Thanks.

Regards,

Dave
