Hello,

A revisit after I personally checked the fiche in the library for birth and marriage.

Henry BONE & Mary Ann CORBISHLEY
Marriage 12 Nov 1839 St Marylebone, London

Not found in 1841 so had probably left but not yet found in shipping records.

Birth Reg# 1166 22 Aug 1845 RGD No 33 Mary Ann BONE - Henry - CORVISHLEY Mary Ann - Hobart

The above birth is on the Tas BMD fiche. I can find no trace in Tasmania of Mary Ann's marriage to McFARLANE.

GROOM: James LEWTON
Status: Widower
Place of Birth: England
Occupation: Dealer
Age: 55
Usual residence: Sydney
Father: Not stated
Occupation: Not stated
Mother: Not stated

BRIDE: Mary Ann McFARLANE
Status: Widow
Place of Birth: Tasmania
Occupation: Not stated
Age: 31
Usual Residence: Sydney
Father: Not stated
Occupation: Not stated
Mother: Not stated

Date of Marriage: 31 Aug 1882
Place of marriage: Macquarie street Sydney, NSW
Religion: Presbyterian
Witnesses: Ellen DAVIS, Maggie? YATES
Minister: James FULLERTON

Clearly didn't use her maiden name and not a spinster so where was the marriage?

Regards,

Dave

Thanks gibbo. :)

I revisit after every trip to the library when a new bit of info is found.

I suppose the next question is did they marry in Victoria. Have not found a death for first spouse yet. Also don't know when Mary Ann arrived in Sydney.

One curious bit is that her daughter and two grandchildren called her Hannah. I presume it was still Mary Ann for her first marriage, 1862-1882.
