Thanks Geoff.

The one aged 28 is ruled out and the other is ruled out as well. I've been going through all the deaths for a Mary Ann WILLIAMS in TROVE and trying to eliminate them.

The POWELL family is no problem.

I have proof that Sydney was born on the 'Susan' and baptised at St Philip in Sydney.

After Elizabeth Mitchell was born there were twins.

Problem is Mary Ann COTTER and I've given up.

There is a death in 1931 for a Mary Ann WILLIAMS spouse of a William except there are 14 marriages in NSW from 1850 for a Mary A to a William WILLIAMS.

I have nothing else on Mary Ann. No tree, no birth, no parents.

This looks good so we probably have to take it step by step form 1868...

Yes. I call that enough evidence even though it has Sidney. He was named Sydney even though he was born in Bass Strait. They didn't name him 'Susan'

I just picked up on one thing. William was a mariner.

Empire (Sydney, NSW : 1850 - 1875) - Monday 27 March 1871 p.1
MARRIAGES
On the 13th March, at his residence, 41, Burton-street,
South Head-road, by the Right Rev. Dr. Bailey, Bishop of
the Free Church of England, Mr. Albert George Taylor,
baker, of George-street North, to Mary Ann, daughter of the
late Captain William Williams, master mariner, of Riley-

Clarence-street in 1868 so may or may not be the same mariner.

15x William died 1868-1871, 5 in the Sydney area.
