Mary Ann Cowling - Parramatta

brentor boy

Valued Member
Mary Ann Cowling was transported on board "Surrey" on 28 March 1840, having been sentenced at Plymouth Quarter sessions, Devon. Arrived N.S.W 14 July 1840

She is recorded (twice) as a girl in Paramatta Female Factory.

She was granted ticket of leave in late 1847. (County of Camden)

A Mary Ann Cowling, aged 68, died in Parramatta on 18 Dec 1872.

I would welcome any additional information about the convict and the deceased. Is it possible that they were one and the same?
