Hi all,
I'm looking for the arrival in Sydney, NSW of Mary Ann GREEN
She was born abt 1834-5 in Dublin Ireland.
She died in 1898 and her death certificate info states that she'd been in the colony of NSW for abt 47yrs.
She married Thomas Connell in Jan 1854 in Sydney, parents were John Green and Mary Bolger.
I've had no luck finding her arrival, which would be abt 1850-1852
I don't know if she came with parents or alone :(

Gail do you have her marriage cert.? I was just wondering who the witnesses to her marriage where and if she was underage who gave permission for her to marry. Sometimes witnesses can be family and that can help with finding out who if anyone she come here with.

Hi Gibbo,

Their marriage cert is dated 16 Jan 1854. Mary would have been abt 20yrs old. Her age at death was 64yrs, so matches :)

Witnesses were Eugene Connor of Sydney and Mary O'Connor of Sydney (her mark)

Some of the pre-1855 records appear in as many as 4 different volumes with slight variations in the info. No consistent explanation as to why more than one volume. The dates usually agree.
