Looking for a Mary Jane Bettoney, born Oadby ,Leicestershire, about 1857-1859. Looking for her parents names aswell. She married my great grandfather Harry Clarke in Oadby about 1880? And there first Son was called Bettoney.

Hi Horrobin,

At the moment I cant find a Mary Bettoney on the census, nor a birth for 1857-59 nor a marriage. Are you sure her maiden name is Bettoney?
There is a marriage for a Harry Clarke district Blaby 1880 one of the brides listed is a Mary Jane Rowley. There is another marriage for 1880 but one of the brides names is missing from the indexing. Have you any of their childrens birth certificates to confirm her maiden name?.

A STORY ABOUT THEM IS IN MY 1881 OADBY BOOK AND IT SAYS HER MAIDEN NAME WAS BETTONEY AND THEY CALLED THERE FIRST SON BETTONEY. C. CLARKE
