Ok. If that is the death of the Mary E aged 3 in the 1861 census then James and wife Sarah and dau Elizabeth aged 1 left England.

1889 MARRIAGES Solemnized in the District of Waterloo
No. 222 27th August 1889 St. Silas' Waterloo
James Higgins - Bachelor - London - Wardsman - full - Sydney - James Higgins & Catherine McKenna - Labourer
Mary Court - Spinster - New Zealand - - - full - Botany - James Court & Sarah (Savara) ? - Engineer
Married at the Church of St. Silas, Waterloo According to the rites & ceremonies of the Church of England
Parties signed: James Higgins, Mary Court Witnesses signed: William McCormack ?, Sidney Court
By me H. Martin Officiating Minister

This has Mary as born in NZ. No middle name there or on death reg.

NZ Birth 1 Jan 1868/11880 Court Mary - Sarah - James

Then age at death is 10 years out !!

Thanks gibbo.

The family went from England to Victoria then NZ and then back to NSW.

Seems the age at death is 10 years out. Born NZ on the marriage should be accurate.

I spent the morning at the local library so I have lots of English census images.
