Mary c. 10 Feb 1829 Emley, Yorkshire
David KAYE & Ellen
Batch: P007601

2nd Marriage 2224/1872 NOBLES GEORGE HILL - HAMPSHIRE MARY - GOULBURN * 28 Dec 1872

Death 5925/1881 HILL MARY - JOSEPH K [?] MARY [?] - CARCOAR * 30 Oct 1881

Informant get both parents names wrong.

But something is wrong somewhere.

Is it George Nobles-Hill with the Nobles- omitted for Mary's death reg?

Or is the surname just Hill and the marriage is wrong with Nobles?

No death in NSW index for a George Nobles or a Nobles-Hill.

Too many deaths for a George Hill with no death at Carcoar.

It's the right death for Mary and parents are clearly wrong.

Goulburn Herald (NSW) - Tue 15 Nov 1881 p.4
JUNCTION POINT.
I regret to state another of our old inhabitants, Mrs. George Hill, has been taken from our midst after a long and painful illness. She leaves a devoted husband and three children (two of whom are Mrs. Robt. Blatchford junior and Mr. Edward Hampshire of your city) to mourn their irreparable loss. Her remains were attended by about forty to their last resting-place.
November 8.

Marriage 2284/1870 BLATCHFORD ROBERT HENRY - HAMPSHIRE ANNIE MARIA - GOULBURN

Yes, married twice.

I can't sort out George's name. Is it Nobles or Hill or Hill-Nobles or Nobles-Hill.

NSW BDM will usually put it in the index three times if there is a '-' in the name.

No index entry for a Mary Nobles. Nothing in the index for Mary's death to indicate there is a '-' in the name.

This would fit.

The Goulburn Herald and Chronicle (NSW : 1864 - 1881) Sat 9 Aug 1879 Page 6 TUENA AND DISTRICT.
Messrs. George Hill and party are making pre-
parations for erecting a whim at one of the shafts
on the Stockyard Reef, situate on Junction Point.
It is rumoured they have struck the reef; but for
this I cannot vouch.

1885
George Hill is hand crushing some quartz reef for the gold.

Can't find anything else in Trove that helps.
