Looking for Mary in 1881 and 1891 thanks.

Mary's pob in 1851 - 1871 varies - Alloa, Old Monkland and Arnston.

I can't find a birth/baptism that fits with mmn Dawson.

Thanks emeltee.

The 1899 death at Uphall might be correct with possibly an error for mmn.

Might have to find something to rule out that 1901 for sure.

I believe the William Hunter aged 25 in 1881 and listed as a coal miner is my great grandfather who went on to become manager of Armadale Colliery : see his name listed as manager in 1924 The United Collieries Ltd. - Scottish Shale . He retired in 1924 at the age of 68 and died when 72. I have a newspaper cutting with a brief obituary , and also a lengthy description in the Midlothian Courier of 8 February 1924 of his working life starting in a coal mine at the age of 10 and saying his father was James Hunter. I have only just started looking at the Hunters . I have a family photo taken in about 1904 surrounded by his numerous children . The photo and images of newspaper clippings are too large to upload full size. My grandfather was Thomas Hunter born in 1895. This is an extract referring to his father James Hunter

You will be able to find the article below in the British Newspaper archive. It is a comprehensive record of his life
