Can't find her in 1891 or later and can't identify her death.

Husband Thomas died 18 May 1884, late of Hadleigh, Cabinet maker & upholsterer. Will proved at bury St Edmonds 28 July 1886 by Mary Lloyd, widow. £ 186 8s 6d

He was buried at Hadleigh St Mary but no record of her there.

Thanks stockpot.

Yes, I could not see a death for Mary. I had better extend the search to shipping records and BMD in Australia.

I know son William ended up in Australia but I've not found him in shipping records so far.

This is the marriage:

Marriages Jun Qtr 1850
Lloyd Thomas Yarmouth Gt 13 639
Revett Mary Yarmouth Gt 13 639

I don't have a baptism or parents for Mary yet. Can't find a baptism.

I can't see Mary as born Essex on FS in 1841 census.

Looks to me like this is the family of Mary Revett/Lloyd ??

One last thing :- 1881 census Station Rd, Framlingham, Suffolk
Pc 1885 F 28 P50
William E Revitt 56 retired from HMS Tolleshunt Essex
Jane wife 55
Kate Ivy daug. 24 Calcutta
Marion daug. 23 Calcutta
Joseph Revitt father 93 superannuated Kelvedon Essex

FS has marriage of William in Calcutta in 1854 and his middle name is Eagle.
Thomas and Mary Lloyd in Hadleigh had a daughter Alice Mary Eagle Lloyd, born 19 March 1854 died 4 May 1854. Looks like Eagle is a family name.

Hello stockpot,

Thank you very much.

I didn't search that late for a baptism for Mary. Yes, Rivett (variations) and Eagle appear as middle names in several generations.

I have one puzzle re this family I will post and I'd appreciate your thoughts on it.

LLOYD William Death notice 23JUL1915 Death 63 at North Sydney SMH 24JUL1915

Middle name and age at death don't point to the William Revett baptised 22 Aug 1851. No death has bee found for that one and no birth/baptism for a second one. The other possibility is that there is only one and that he was given both as middle names and chose at times to use Eagle.

Sorry, can't add to all the work you have already done, I see you have been working on this for a very long time!

Have you looked at the Collins business man from the time of the fire ? William Revett Lloyd had a cousin William Revett Collins, son of his mother's sister Harriet who married in Calcutta 1855 and had 2 children there, Charles Pryce Collins 1855 and William Revett Collins 1857. Harriett died of cholera in Calcutta 1863. In 1871 Charles is with his Revett grandparents in London, can't find William Collins. Maybe still in India with his father ?
Perhaps William Revett Lloyd and brothers went first to India before going on to Australia with Collins cousins? Maybe he is in business with his Collins cousins and takes the name William Eagle to distinguish himself from William Revett Collins?? (not very likely but the best I can do !)

Hello stockpot,

Thanks for those details. I didn't realise the business partner was possibly a cousin.

There seems to be no death and no birth/baptism record for a 2nd William so perhaps he did just change middle names.
