So death should be between 1937 and 1943 the next E/R in the index.

I can see no remarriage to 1938, the close of on-line BMD index.

Ok this is what i have found..

Matilda must have had a brother here as well or maybe a nephew who was born in England arrived here.

Don't know which brother also arrived, or perhaps just a nephew arrived.

Oh. :) I'd better put surname = JAMES

Can't see a death for a Thomas JAMES with father = William or Albert - Matilda's younger brothers.

That's a bit curious. If that's an elder brother he is not with family in that 1881 census.

Ernest Harry James 1903 Queensland Herbert

Died 1938.

Clearly says "... her nephew, Mr. Thomas James, ..."

Ok, he may have died after 1983.

Seems this one died at Gordonvale:

1947/C2850 James Thomas - Joseph - Hannah

But Matilda has no brother Joseph.
