I am stuck with tracing my family on the 1911 census. Although I am not 100% certain on some details, this is why I need to find them on the 1911 to eliminate certain details.

I know that on the 1901 census they lived at 45 Richardson Street West Hartlepool, my great-grandfather was William Thomas Maughan, married to Mary J Maughan, they had 3 children at that time, Florence, Charles and one other which I can't read off the transcript. My grandfather was born in 1902, this I know as I have his marriage certificate and death details. But I can't find any of them on the 1911 census. Grateful for any help.

Hi Steve,

Wow, very quick work, thank you very much, my next thing was going to be looking for miss spelling, or seeing if he was entered as Thomas Maughan. Seems they couldn't spell the name even then!!

Thanks once again.

Sometimes it's just worth looking with just the christian names, and year and place of birth. But it does read Maughn on the original.

Doesn't always work, but that's where I start with 'wild' alternatives.:2fun:
