No, I had not seen 1891. So it looks as though that's not the right birth in 1853. Age 74 at death does not fit so we are left with the other death.

Family in post #5 is a diffferent family.

Don't know yet about Roberts parent's because the trees don't have them. There is possibly a tree on 'A' but don't know how much it has on Robert's side.

I think we need to work backwards. Find a Robert a blacksmith born Lanark abt 1853 in 1871 in Lanark.

Marriage was in 1876 in Anderston, not Ann's parish.

I don't think Marion Mitchell is his mother... Robert can't be found in the E/R's after 1908...

C in the reg means country and Mount Morgan certainly is country so explains why nothing in Brisbane papers.
