I am having a bit of difficulty with my McGill/OGara Side of my family
This is what i know

Dorothy McGill b1939 (my mother)
James McGill b1838

Thier Parents were

Francis McGill b1905 in Bradford Yorkshire
Dorothea Johnson b1901 Pudsey Yorkshire

Francis' Siblings were

William b1896 in Yorkshire
James b1899 Yorkshire
Mary b1901 Yorkshire
John b1902 Yorkshire
Bartholomew b1872 Yorkshire
Annie b1908 Yorkshire
Thomas b1911 Yorkshire

Francis' Parents were

Thomas McGill b1871 Sligo Ireland???
Mary O'Gara b1871 Sligo Ireland???????

I am not sure if they were from Irleland or thier parents were, what i do know is they married in Yorkshire, which seems strange that they happened to meet when their families came from same place in Ireland, although being a stong Catholic family it may not be so strange as they probably met through the Church.

Sterico said he might be able to help, but this is as much info as i have.

Hi Teresa,
I have been in touch with Sligo County Genuki and Sligo county library and given them the details on Thomas McGill and Mary O'Gara, and they will post the info on their research site, as you can imagine Sligo is a very big county and is split into thousand of townlands (villages) I will be making a trip to Sligo in the near future so will see what comes up in the meantime. It is looking slim at the moment because the info is sparce but
we will not let that deter us yet! :)

Hi teresa,
Just thought i would let you know there is no further progress yet on the McGill & O'gara search, I do say yet, as i am checking each evening and will continue to do so, I will be going to sligo 1 day next week so i will make time to do a bit of research while i am there
