Richard McKelligett

Death Place: Queensland
Father: John Mckelligett
Mother: Honorah

Registration Year: 1884
Registration Place: Queensland

It seems the death reg for Ellen has the wrong father. Or did Honora marry brothers?

Looking to sort out the Richard who died in Liverpool.

Also looking for a death for John and Honora and a birth/baptism for daughter Ellen.

Thanks,

Dave

Thanks Val.

So the Richard who died in Qld. is Ellen's brother.

There seems to be no birth reg for Ellen and Richard in NSW index.

I can't even find Honora's 1879 death in the index.

Don't know when or where John died. The 57th left in 1831 and age at death for son Richard points to abt 1835 so it seems John must have been discharged before they left. No age for John. Enlisted 1818.

Is the Richard who died in Liverpool John's brother?

Perhaps all three events are in Tasmania.

Dave,
On Ellen's mother Honoria's death notice in 1879 - says mother of the late Mrs. R. Moor, - reckon father's name is just an error..

Evening News Tue 8 Aug 1875
MOORE.β€”August 2, at her residence, Glenmore, Oaks, Ellen, the beloved wife of Robert Moore, aged 41 years.

Ellen & Robert had at least 9 children from 1856 to 1876, on NSW BMD - so reckon Robert would have remarried with having a few young ones after Ellen’s death..
couple of possibles - 1875 to Ann Boucher – Wellington or 1877 to Bridges (reckon it is Bridget) Colbort – St Leonards

regards Val

Thanks Val.

41 or 51 ??

I must have missed one. I had 8 children.

1823 November 3 Robert - Edward & Elizabeth Moore When Born: October 27, 1820 St. Luke's Liv.B = Liverpool, NSW

Liverpool fits for the family so death of Richard in Liverpool is of interest.

The Sydney Morning Herald - Thursday 15 October 1908 p.8
DEATHS
MOORE.-October 10, at his residence, Windsor-avenue, Rosedale, Croydon, late Glenmore, Camden, Robert Moore, in his 89th year.

Index on p.8 has Funerals on p.16 but Trove scans end at p.14. Page 16 missing from reel.

There does not appear to be a Funeral notice after viewing the partial pages of another film. The image has one page overlapping part of another page and there is enough showing to say it's not a list of Funeral notices.

I had received some info from a descendant but nothing re a remarriage.

Thanks Val.

I missed the first one so only had 8.

I can look that baptism up tomorrow.

Robert born 1820 and baptised 1823, died 1908 aged 88.

Son Arthur V is the main but not the only connection of this family to my tree.

One tree has 1836 Parramatta for Ellen. I checked the death notices and it is 51.

... The 57th arrived in Australia during 1826 serving at Tasmania, Sydney, Swan River. The Regiment was transferred to Madras in 1831. ...
Western Australia as well.

John left the 57th and joined the Mounted police for most of 1827 then re-enlisted in same regiment so no evidence he was in Tasmania or WA. There were 15 detachments and no list of where they all were.
