I am looking for Mclean family lived in Edingburgh, also Whitby at one point, I understand Francis Mclean ,I think was born between 1910 - 1920 had a sister Sheila any help would be appreciated

Do you know who Francis married at all or roughly when he died? Could he have died in England?

The only problem, I really don`t know much about him at all, don`t know when or when he died. So guess this is going to be very difficult

There was a Francis McLean born in 1919 who died in 1986 in West Lancashire according to the Ancestry death indexes but you say that your one stayed in Whitby.

Thank you I do I get to the site that you found regarding the death of Francis ?
Then where do you suggest I go from there ? If I try to follow up what you have found.
I think the family where in Whitby for a time, then in Scotland in 1946, for a time, but no idea what happened to them after that date.

I think ScotlandsPeople has their birth indexes which can help you trace a Francis McLean with a sister SheilaMclean through the registers. I have not had much experience with this site as I dont have any Scottish ancestors that were born in the last few generations, however I do have a Scottish 5xgreat grandfather but he was born in 1738 in Selkirk.

If you go onto their site and follow up what records they do have, this should help.
