MELLISH, Henry b 1827 Brighton, Sussex, England,
son of Thomas Mellish and Sarah (nee Rapley/Rapply)
Henry Mellish married Ellen Searle in 1849, Brighton, Sussex, England.
I cannot find any definite record of when my Henry Mellish died. He was not listed in the 1871 Census but presumably before then. Did he die in Brighton, buried in Brighton, Sussex?
Henry Mellish was a Carpenter and his father Thomas Mellish was a bricklayer in 1849 when he married Ellen Searle (born Farnham, Surrey).
Any information regarding Henry Mellish would be appreciated. I do have family photo’s who were brought out to Australia with Ellen Mellish (Henry’s widow) and they are in an album from Peebles, Scotland , also with some other family portraits that were taken in Peebles, Scotland (one of which looks like William Leigh Mellish). There are other portraits taken in Edinburgh, Scotland too.
If anyone knows if there is a link with the MELLISH family and Scotland it would be appreciated.
A real puzzlement I am trying to solve given I am the custodian of this precious album.
