:) Hello Paul,
Thank goodness for what you think isn't relevant information at the time. The information I picked up at random in my research on Davies family names includes Liverpool pilots No 9 scooner the 'Giude', Master John Scott, apprentices William Davies and William Backhouse of 18 Barlow street,Kirkdale, the Davies family and Backhouse seemed to work the schooners and are pilots up and down the river, two other schooners are mentioned the 'Criterion' and the 'Lancashire Witch' if you check with the Maritime site they might be able to identify the ships.Lastly I have another Backhouse same period but maybe unrelated he is Peter and was sexton at St. Timothy's Church, Liverpool.Just of interest, your William wasn't married to an Elizabeth was he and they emigrated to Canada.Best regards Kerrymac:)
