I have managed to trace my ancestor's back to my 8th great grandfather Miles Mason who died April 1618 in Cawgill, Dent, Yorkshire. He married Mellory Mason 1594 and they had eight children. I would like to find out Miles's date of birth and info on his father who I believe could have been called Thomas.

Hello:)
Had a little spare time so decided to take a look for you
I am not sure if these are yours
but it`s worth a mention with the connection to Dent

Thomas Roger Mason born Didlebury in Shropshire 1550 ,married at Le Cotes,Shropshire 1575 to Joanna Leighton born 1554 at Le Cotes,Shropshire died 1627(Joanna came from a very prominent family)
They had a son called Thomas Richard Mason born 1576 at Dent ,Yorkshire died 1618 at Dent, Yorkshire and he married an Eleanor Baldwin born Dent ,Yorkshire 1580
Ther is an awful lot about this family on the net ,I put in a google search of families of Dent
and of course
If these are not yours then we will keep on trying
take care

Hi,

Thanks for the help. I have found all that info on google and worked through it but no mention of a son called Miles. I have loads of information on my ancestor's including Miles' will and then I have hit a brick wall. I would possibly need to find a will for a Thomas Mason naming Miles in it to go further back.

Regards
