Hello Julie,

Thanks.

I noticed a daughter with the same name (variation) - Merren.

Robert a printfield worker would fit - same occupation as his father.

As for James: age 22 and 49 so one out or both?

I don't know if we are making progress or not.

What I'm hoping for is to trace one of the KERRs, I was hoping Mirren but one of her brothers would do. Then get a copy of his death certificate. I'm assuming in this that they are all siblings of the William KERR in my tree.

Hello Julie,

Yes. I am hoping this is part of the family with William (in my tree) and Elizabeth as the two eldest children who were out on their own by 1841. I have no death for William 1841 - 1851 so looking to trace a possible sibling.

Hello Julie.

Ok, thanks.

So we only have James in Rutherglen in 1861 unless we can find a marriage for Mary.

That's one or two to try and trace.

Oh. If I can prove Margaret the spouse of Andrew has the same parents as the other KERRs then we have one more to trace.

No sign of a Margaret.

Regards,

Dave

Hello Julie,

I have possibly found two more siblings, Isabella and Agnes but there are 8 possible marriages I need to check.

I'd prefer to trace one of the married daughters. That way I have two family names in the index for the death on SP.

Regards,

Dave

Hello Julie,

Thanks for looking.

Hard to say with that amount of info.

If you have given Mirren and variations a go and found nothing in 1861 then the next best bet I think is to wait until I have checked out Isabella and Agnes.

I need a KERR who died after 1861. OPR death is no use.

I'm getting nowhere mainly because 1841 just says born Lanarkshire and I need to have is say Rutherglen. By 1851 they can't be found.

Regards,

Dave

Hello Julie,

Thanks.

There is a problem. Although the census lists James as a brother-in-law suggesting that Margaret is a sibling I can't find any Margaret on the list of KERRs that includes those together in 1841, plus William (in my tree), Elizabeth we found, and Agnes & Isabella I've just found.

Well, it's possible Margaret is missing from that list. I notice daughters Miron and Agness - same names for aunts.

I've looked in 1841 and 1851 and can't find Agnes(s) or Isabel(la) unmarried.

Elizabeth (married to Alexander MURRAY) is no use to us because it looks as though she died before 1851. Her daughter is with an aunt in 1851.

Regards,

Dave

Hello Julie,

That's ok, I'm not lost. :2fun:

Ok please see if you can find Margaret in 1861. Thanks.

If the 38 is correct that would make her the one born after William.

Regards,

Dave

Hello Julie,

Oh. I was lost after all.

Thanks. I was looking at #12. That's where I got the 38.

I will see if I can find a death.

Regards,

Dave
