I am looking for information on Richard knowles 1886-1914, who supposed to have died in WW1. husband of elizabeth, living in workington, cumberland. We have never been able to find a death cetificate for him, then an elderly family member said she thinks that he never returned from the war. does anyone know how we can find any information on him? Especailly his death. Thanks.Doreen.

Hi Doreen, this is fairly easy have you checked the CWGC website? their web address is http:www.cwgc.org/debt_of_honour.asp this should come up with details, it is a free site also you can use findmypast.com this is a paying site but it should have the details you are looking for :)
