I have a relative Edwin Murray b 1845 who has a wife Martha in the 1871 census but has a different wife in the 1881 census Isabel.
The first wife hails from Islington and the second from scotland.
I can find no death listed for the first wife or for the eldest daughter who is also missing. I have the correct murray as there cannot be many watch makers with the same name.
Any ideas as to the missing wife and daughter, I've run out of ideas.

Found this Martha Murray in 1901 in the City of London Union Homerton Workhouse. She is born abt 1845 married born Islington. I dont know if she is the same Martha Murray in 1881 living in Poplar with a son Harry. So perhaps they may not be your Martha. A Martha Murray died in 1904 district Poplar born abt 1846.
