Missing Lockwoods in 1911

Hi. Would appreciate help from anyone with access to 1911 census.

Cannot find Ethel Mary Lockwood (b1892 London) and her sister Grace (b1896 London) in 1911. In 1901 they were living in St Mary Stratford, Bow with father Allen and mother Alice. Alice died 1909, and Allen is a boarder & widower in Ticehurst Sussex in 1911 census.

I think Grace marries a Reuben Parsons in West Ham, Essex in 1922. Ethel marries in 1915 in Portsmouth. But where are they in 1911??? Even trying to allow for misspellings and lying about age, I can't find them!

I was just rummaging through the 1911 forum and spotted your request with 0 replies, so I thought I’d take a look!

Etehl (sic) Mary Lockwood, aged 19, born 1892 is in the same house as Florence Minnie Oliver, aged 45 and Thomas Oliver aged 44 in the West Ham Registration District. (Sorry – don’t have any more details than these!)

There is a “Grace Ethels Lockwood”, age 15, born 1896 living in Glossop, Derbyshire, and a “Gladys Beryl Lockwood”, age 15, born 1896 living in Woolwich but I doubt whether either of these are yours.

There’s also a Grace Lock, age 15, born 1896, living in Rochford, Essex, but she seems to be with her family!

Hopefully, one of our other members might be able to find your Grace.

Josie, thank you so much for taking the time to look. I suspect that Etehl is the right person, and I'd be surprised if Grace is terribly far away given her West Ham marriage. Perhaps I should be searching for Garce instead though!

It's unbelievable how many misspellings there are, but it all adds to the fun of the chase!
