I have managed to trace one spouse but I am 90% positive I have found the other spouse.
I have William Coote married to Eliza Blake in Chelsea in 1886. I found William ok as the witnesses are his sister & her husband.
I am trying to trace Eliza Mary Blake. I found the following who looks promising in all aspects:
Eliza Sarah Mary Blake
Born Mar 1864
Kensington
Vol 1a Page 86
Have been through Cencuses, etc which seem to match only the second name Sarah may have been dropped by Eliza in time.

HI i agree - I too found a wedding in 1886 and a birth in 1864 but I can find nothing on the census. maybe she was called Mary/May or Sarah instead of Eliza
or even Elizabeth.Could the name Blake be wrongly transcribed as Black or Block, maybe they were out of the country. I notice on the marriage her name is given as Eliza May. I think you should send for the marriage cert you will then have her name and father's name & occupation :(

Hi Gillian,
Have you tried Elizabeth or Lizzie?
My gg grandmother was registered as Eliza, but on the census she was Elizabeth or Lizzie she was even Elizabeth on her marriage and death certs.
I had a gg aunt who was always known as Polly I could never find anything for her until I found out her given name was Mary.
