Thanks gibbo.

Name and age fit but no idea why NZ.

Birth 26097/1896 BARNES MONA I - JOSEPH F - ELIZA - TEMORA * 19 Jul 1896

Her parents died in NSW and I have no other Barnes deaths in NZ.

Need one more bit of evidence.

Dave

The Charlton Park cemetery is in Gore a long way from Invercargill. So a reason for that too.

Miss M E Barnes on shipping record.

Not found a divorce so far.

Thanks gibbo.

Same occupation.

Wagga Wagga Express (NSW) - Sat 9 Sep 1905 p.2
DEATH OF MR. J. T. BARNES.
It is my painful duty to have to report the death of another of our best known and respected townsmen. Mr. Joseph T. Barnes. The death took place early this morning, and was due to an attack of pneumonia, on which bronchitis supervened. Deceased had been laid up for about three weeks. He was 40 years of age, and up to the time of his illness was employed in Mr. A. W. Stinson's office. His wife and one daughter survive him.

Only child. Looks like there are no relatives in NZ that I can see.

Says born Sydney but the informant would not have known.

Case closed I'd say, thanks.
