Hi everyone,
I recently discovered that my mother's maiden name, Monks, has a Coat of Arms. Obviously, C of A's were awarded to individuals and not names or families, but is there a way to find out who the Coat of Arms was granted to.
Also, my grandmother has a wooden plaque in her hallway with this exact Coat of Arms that I hadn't noticed before. She said she and my late Grandfather got it, "oh, over twenty years ago!"
Is it possible that we are entitled to a Coat of Arms granted to an ancestor?
