Yes. Margaret and her younger sister Ellen were involved with the Ben Hall Gang. Ellen with Ben and Margaret with John Dunn.
The night of Boxing Day 1864 they were at the Binda ball together and after they were involved with the burning of a store at Binda.
John Dunn was on the run for the murder of Constable Nelson in 1865 and it is said he held up at the Monks farm.

Ellen Monks was indicted for the wilful murder of her husband, Thomas Monks, at Longnose Creek, on the 31st October, 1859.
Prisoner pleaded guilty.
